"A cohesive design that met all of our needs. A project truly made with an artist's heart and hand."

Sheboygan WI Homeowner

Award-winning basement kitchen remodel; Sheboygan, Lake Michigan Shore, Wisconsin: Over the years, the homeowners faithfully renovated their Russell Barr Williamson designed home (protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright), staying true to the designer's vision. The lower level family room and entertainment kitchen with outdoor patio needed to be updated as well as renovated, as a previous owner's remodel had hidden the original Prairie elements and it was out of sync with the rest of the home's interior design.

Timber Innovations created an open floor plan allowing full interaction from any area of the kitchen with other zones in the room; remodeled with design elements and materials true to Williamson's Prairie-style aesthetic — copper, brick, stone and Philippine Mahogany.

The basement renovation created a full kitchen, dining area and multipurpose gathering place for entertaining family, friends and colleagues.

In addition to hidden storage and appliances, updates included granite countertops, stone back splashes, Philippine Mahogany cabinetry and embossed copper artwork. The result is an efficient blend of earthy, existing architecture and newly incorporated technology that is stylish and functional. The Fox Valley Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) judges were impressed with the clean lines of the design and that Timber Innovations "maintained the aesthetic of the original house. Gorgeous end result!

This project won the following awards:

2011 Level Best Award winner in the “Kitchen over $120,000” category, Fox Valley Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI)

The Prairie-Style Kitchen was featured on the March 2011 cover of Fox Cities Magazine and in the “At Home” section.
